Spring Fever
Before I start my post, take a look at this.

Yes, I finally have the 15”, vintage brown batchel(satchel with handle) from The Cambridge Satchel Company which I’ve been wanting for ages. I was actually supposed to get it for my birthday but they didn’t have any stocks of the satchel I wanted until a month ago when I got a text from them. Aside from the fact that this is the first bag I’ve ever bought(excluding schoolbags), the satchel complements my style perfectly, I can honestly think of a hundred looks to pair it with.

Thanks a lot to Chocolate Schubar for my Cambridge satchel! Chocolate Schubar is located at R2, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati City, check out their website for more store locations.
Alright, so yesterday, after my 7am class, I decided to sit in at Nicole and Paolo’s Psychology class since I didn’t have anything to do for the rest of the day. After a bit of catching up(haven’t seen these guys for quite some time), we decided to have a random shoot after class with spring style as our peg.

Started shooting in Burgos Circle.

Even though I was styling the two, I wanted our own individual styles to be present in our looks so here’s my take on spring style. Since spring is supposed to be cooler than summer but warmer than winter, I wanted there to be a certain balance so I paired a thick knit cardigan over basic summer attire—a half-tucked buttondown shirt and shorts. I also finally brought out my navy/white saddle shoes, a pair which I only wear during the warmer months, here’s what I wore:
- Khaki double-breasted cardigan-H&M
- Green plaid buttondown shirt-Brooks Brothers
- White shorts-Lacoste
- Brown leather belt-Jack Nicklaus
- Brown leather satchel-The Cambridge Satchel Company
- Navy/white saddle shoes-Custom-made
- Tortoiseshell wayfarer glasses-Ray-Ban

Nicole’s style relies on easy-to-wear, comfortable clothing with a certain trendiness to it. She’s a big fan of color so I let her wear this printed romper but instead of following her idea to go matchy-matchy on the shoes, I let her wear wedges in another color to add contrast to the look.

Paolo’s style is urban with a hint of prep, his style also takes a lot of inspiration from the music he likes. For his look, I let him wear layers to show the different aspects of his style.

If you noticed, I changed the editing for the shoot photos, desaturated the colors and fixed the lighting to give it that hazy, almost romantic, spring feel.

We changed locations and headed to 24th St., near the sun statue.

For Nicole’s second look, I decided to experiment layers on her and it worked out pretty well. I still wanted to keep the casual vibe going on so I tied her loose top into a knot and just like my look, there’s a balance between the cardigan and the shorts.

For Paolo’s second look, I couldn’t resist injecting in some of my style with the pairing of the blue plaid shirt and khaki chinos, but kept it true to his style with the Vans which he chose himself.

I think it’s time to add impromptu photoshoots to the list of how friends bond, had so much fun with these guys. We’re definitely doing this again!
